Kiss Has Returned With Album “Sonic Boom”

After 11 long years of waiting KISS has finally returned with a new album “Sonic Boom”. Many will be quite impressed especially if they had been disappointed with the last few albums that came out in the 90’s. In “Sonic Boom” Kiss has truly gotten their act together. It is good to see them return in style. The 90’s were not the best for this band but they seem to have redeemed themselves in this new album.

Gene Simmons is absolutely amazing on bass and finally shows it. Many of us had forgotten how good he was. Tommy Thayer gets to strut his stuff which is great. Thayer is finally getting some of the attention he has deserved for a long time.

Gene Simmonds voice is as amazing as always and will have the women wishing they could be with him and the guys wishing they were him.
Many of the song lyrics are pretty incredible. “Modern Day Delilah” is a great song that appears to get even better every time you hear the words. Isn’t that the great thing about certain songs you just hit replay time after time in the car. It doesn’t hurt that Paul Stanley is the one singing the vocals.

“Russian Roulette” is probably the favorite because of Gene Simmonds. He can send shivers down any women’s spine with his soul inducing voice. His base action is beyond incredible. The talent he has just shines through. I think this one may have single written all over it.

Never Enough is a great song and may be one of their better ones in the last few years.
Eric Singer doesn’t disappoint with his drumming but what is really surprising is his vocals especially in the song “All for the Glory”. Who knew he was so talented at more than just drumming. Great surprise there!

Cowbells are not a favorite of mine but “Hot and Cold” had their share. Not really a favorite though Simmonds vocals were good the Cowbells need to go.
All in all Simmonds returns as one of the greats and Thayer needs to be watched. The talent he has is pretty good for the first time truly in the spotlight.
KISS has finally stepped back up to the plate and delivered an album reminiscent of their glory days in the 70’s. If you are a fan of KISS then you will not want to miss their new album. It is definitely a keeper.

The second leg of the KISS tour runs from May 1 to June 27, 2010. The rock band comes back to some European locations for the first time in many years to the appreciation of numerous international fans. In UK, it has been 18 years since they last did an arena show, with 17- and 21- year gaps for Scottish and Irish shows respectively. KISS will also visit Finland, Slovakia, Spain and Belgium, with some of their appearances being in annual rock and metal festivals across various cities. Other locations include Italy, Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands and France.

KISS was formed in 1972 in New York by Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley who then recruited Peter Criss and Ace Frehely. Their live performances are especially renowned, featuring their eccentric face paint and flamboyant performances which have included smoking guitars, blood, fire breathing and other pyrotechnic special effects. KISS album sales exceed 100 million albums around the world, making them truly a household name across the globe.

The band dropped Sonic Boom after several years of denying that they were ever going to release new material. They promoted it in part by appearing on the widely watched TV music competition, American Idol, in May 2009 and making appearances on David Letterman’s and Jimmy Kimmel’s late night talk shows.

Lee Morgan Sonic Boom Jazz Music CD Review

The exceptionally talented Jazz artist Lee Morgan has released him CD entitled Sonic Boom. I am very confident and happy to announce that I believe Lee Morgan fans, and Jazz fans alike will be pleased with this one. With the release of Sonic Boom Lee Morgan’s artistic excellence is on full display as Morgan has once again delivered a brilliant collection of tracks that could very well be him best work to date.

Sonic Boom grabs your attention right from the very first note with Sneaky Pete and won’t let go until the very last note of the very last song Claw-Til-Da, which is another great track by the way.

Sonic Boom is a nicely varied, mix of 13 tracks that are very well written songs by this clearly talented artist. Most of the songs display a lot of the kind emotion that makes for a really great listen. Clearly drawing from what I can only imagine are him own real life experiences. At different points touching on the most real emotions like love, heartbreak, pain, failed relationships and unattainable romance. They’re all here.

If you’re a Lee Morgan fan this is a CD your collection flat cannot be without. In fact, this is one of those CDs that you don’t even have to be a fan of Morgan, or even Jazz to know is good. This is just good music. Period.

While the entire CD is really very good the truly standout tunes are track 5 – I’ll Never Be The Same, track 8 – Stormy Weather, and track 12 – Claw-Til-Da.

My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 1 – Sneaky Pete. Outstanding!

I was wondering if anyone ever heard a sonic boom that was never explained. If you did do you have any idea on what it might have been? Where I live in Ohio two have occured, but never made it into the newspapers.
